Thought of the Week with thanks to Rafi Goodman. In the course of fulfilling our divine mission in life, we can sometimes wonder if we have properly understood what G-d asks of us in a particular situation. At the end of the day, we are only human and we can always misinterpret the meaning of G-d’s messages.

The answer to this concern is what Moshe tells the Jewish people in this week’s Torah reading – “Be wholehearted with G-d”. This means to trust that G-d does not place us in situations in which we are not adequately equipped to handle.

If we make sure to enlist G-d’s help and act on it, ignoring whatever other internal or external voices may be heard that attempt to distract us, Divine Providence will ensure that we have the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges.
