Thought of the Week with thanks to Avi Teleki. When making travel plans, it’s only natural to find out about which destinations to visit. The same was true thousands of years ago, when the spies were sent to check out Israel. So what went wrong? The infamous declaration of mission impossible. Investigations are important, even Moses agreed to it, however the error was in the conclusion. G-d said we are going to Israel, so investigating HOW we get there is important, but not IF we should go.
Likewise, we know Moshiach is coming, G-d told us, so the important task at hand is preparing for it and considering HOW rather than IF. Let us investigate our thoughts, speech and action in order to improve ourselves, before our final journey back to Israel.
