Thought of the Week with thanks to Yudi New. The Torah connects the Mishkan to Shabbos. The Holy Izhbezeh explains that the common theme is unity. Only once the Mishkan was complete, did it become apparent that each individual donation and effort fit perfectly to establish a sanctuary for G-d’s presence. Each contribution from every Jew is mission critical and perfectly complements the other. Similarly, Shabbos is the sanctuary in time which unifies all our weekly efforts and good deeds and allows us to perceive how these spiritual building blocks come together. In the absence of a physical sanctuary, may each of us utilise the Shabbos to reflect on our role and qualities as individuals and as part of a greater unified nation.
